Prof. Levin’s lecture on controlling pandemic influenza

tell me

In the afternoon of Wednesday, April 26th 2006, professor Bruce Levin from the Emory University Center for Disease Control, Atlanta, Georgia, USA gave an insightful lecture titled “Epidemiology of pandemic influenza and its control with immunization and drugs”. The lecture was held for about 80 participants, mainly students and professors from the University of Split and also for MedILS researchers and staff. After asking and answering many intriguing and even provocative questions – most of them, of course, regarding the avian influenza – all the participants took some time to look around the Institute and to compliment its remarkable research preconditions.

Professor Bruce Levin is one of the world’s leading mathematical biologists and and expert in infectional diseases. He is also to become an organizer of population genetics and mathematical biology workshops at MedILS and the Institute’s advisor on infectional disease biology.
