In the framework of MedILS in the Local Community Programme
Dinko Relkovic (a postdoctoral researcher in the Mechanisms of the Neurodegeneration Group) talked about the importance of animal models in biomedical research, to students of the 1st Gymnasium in Split, as well as to the Oceanus biology student organization. More specifically, he focused on a mouse model of Prader-Willi syndrome, a severe neurodevelopment disorder caused by the lack of paternal expression of maternally imprinted genes on chromosome 15q11-13.

2008 senior students from Natural Sciences and Technical High School in Split visited MedILS
Opening of the PhD programme in Biophysics at the University of Split, in collaboration with MedILS
University of Split, in collaboration with the Institute Ruđer Bošković, University of Split Medical School and MedILS is starting an international PhD programme in biophysics. Conceived in a very flexible fashion, the programme invites students from diverse disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, medicine or computer sciences to enroll for the school year 2008/2009.
