Opportunities

We are searching for highly motivated individuals interested to work at MedILS as undergraduate students, PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. All interested candidates should submit their CV and a short statement of interest to: job@medils.hr

To apply for a position in MedILS, the standard procedure is:

1. An initial contact by e-mail to describe your interests and motivations
2. To send recommendation letters (from your supervisor or someone that worked with you and at least one outsider who knows you personally and scientifically)
3. To come and spend a couple of days with us in Split (travel and hotel would be reimbursed) where you would give a seminar and exchange ideas with lab members. This could enable us to decide what type of project might be worked on together.

Đikić group - Postdoctoral positions

Applications are invited for two postdoc positions in the Laboratory for Molecular Biology of Tumors (LMBT) in MedILS. The MedILS is an interdisciplinary institute equipped with modern facilities and offers the opportunity to work with leading scientists in an international and team-oriented environment.

We are seeking highly motivated scientists with strong interests in cancer research.

Krainc group - Postdoctoral positions

A senior postdoctoral position is available to study mechanisms of neurodegeneration, focusing on polyglutamine diseases and Parkinson’s disease (Dunah et al, Science 2002; Zhai et al., Cell, 2005; Cui et al., Cell, 2006).
Candidates should have a PhD or M.D. degree and must have a strong background in molecular biology and/or protein biochemistry. Qualified candidates will have an opportunity to allocate their research time between MedILS and Harvard Medical School as part of the collaborative efforts between the two institutions.
We are seeking a candidate who will be able to supervise our graduate students and assume an independent position as a group leader in the near future. We offer very competitive salary in line with EU standards.

Interested applicants please contact

Žagrović group - PhD and Postdoctoral positions

PhD student and postdoctoral positions in computational biophysics are available in the group of Bojan Zagrovic. The group focuses on using computational approaches, in particular distributed computing on the world-wide-web, to study biomolecular structure and dynamics. Specific topics include structure and dynamics of the natively unfolded proteins, the role of entropy in allosteric activation and the problem of conformational averaging in biomolecular structure determination. For perspective PhD students, an undergraduate degree in physics, chemistry, biology, statistics, computer science or a related discipline is required.  The perspective student would enroll in the international PhD programme in biophysics at the nearby University of Split (for more information, please see www.pmfst.hr/biophysics).  For postdoctoral candidates, a PhD in computational biophysics, structural biology, computational chemistry or a related discipline is required.  Experience with NMR or X-ray structure determination desired, but not a must.

Send a CV and a letter of motivation to zagrovic@medils.hr.
