What is the role of protein stability and chaperones in longevity

    Project description

    In this context, we aim to investigate the mechanism of the chaperone-overexpression mediated replicative life span (RLS) extension in budding yeast, S. cerevisiae, including chaperones from different cellular compartments. It is our aim to study the mechanisms involved in this lifespan extension, as well as the relationship between protein chaperone network, metabolic activity of the cell and mitochondrial function in aging.
